Coaching isn’t therapy. It’s also unlikely to be a great fit for you, if what you are really looking for is guidance (and someone tell you exactly what you should do next.)

Coaching ISN’T ABOUT ADVICE OR THERAPY. COACHING is ALL about…
…asking great questions
Coaching is about asking, not telling. Being coached, isn't about guidance and direction from an expert in a particular area. Whereas a Mentor or a Consultant might offer you advice - a coach won't do this. A coach will ask questions, to help you think about what you could do - and what you're ready to do, so you can move forwards.
Coaching isn't about delving into the problems. Whereas Counselling or Consultancy might focus on unpacking and dealing with things that have gone wrong, in life or at work - Coaching involves working with a thinking partner, to come up with fresh perspectives on current challenges - and design and build actions, that will help you work towards solutions.
…the present… and looking towards the future
Whereas a Counsellor or a Consultant might primarily look backward, into the past, Coaches (like Mentors) concentrate on where you are now - and where you want to be. Coaching focusses on what we can do in the room - right here, right now - that will help you move forwards into the future. Unlike a mentor - a coach won't offer advice, or give you answers. What they will do, is draw the answers out of you.
Different types of approach all have their place, in helping people move forward in their life and work.
When a ‘coaching approach’ is what you're looking for, working with a coach can be an supportive, challenging and empowering experience. Not least, because you’ll come away from the conversation with greater clarity and confidence - knowing that you have done most of the work yourself.

By the end of each session, we'll work with you, to make sure you have what you need, to take the next step. You'll also be encouraged to consider how best you can be accountable to yourself - and/or to others, as you move forward.
I'm Sarah Phillips, founder of Away Coaching. I live with my family, in a fast-growing market town in the Midlands.

I’ve got a big heart for creative entrepreneurs, having launched, grown and sold a successful online business.
I love to hear people tell their stories in the service of others - and worked as Manager for a UK business podcast, serving the UK SME business community.
A car crash in January 2014, left me shaken - but thankfully unhurt. This experience encouraged me to significantly rethink my priorities in my life and work.
After a lot of soul searching, I downsized (and later sold) my business - and retrained as a coach.
Having gained a coaching accreditation, I'm now working towards ACC accreditation, with the ICF (International Coach Federation) - and continuing my development with 3D Coaching.
I’m part of a team who offer ‘transitions coaching’ to those who are new in role, within in the Diocese of Leicester.
I work hard to keep the cost of coaching affordable - and within reasonable reach, for anyone who would benefit from coaching.
As a guide, a one hour coaching session costs around the same as a session with a physio, or a counsellor. I’m always happy to send details of fees by email on request - please feel free to get in touch to ask for more information.
From time to time, I offer a small number of pro-bono coaching hours, to people who otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford to work with me. Applications open once a quarter - and are considered on a case-by-case basis. Please get in touch, if you’d like to know when applications will open again.
